iDC

iNTELLIGENT DATA CONCENTRATOR

The data concentrator forms the intelligent interface between the luminaire controllers in the field and the central control technology.

As a major connecting element of the light management system, the iDC enables direct access to every luminaire controller via powerline technology standardised to CENELEC 50061-1, ANSI/CTA (709.1, 709.2) and EN (14908-1, 14908-3).

In addition, the product decentralises important functions of the control technology to ensure autonomous and self-sufficient operation of the lighting system.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

THE iDC's LOCAL APPLICATION INTELLIGENCE

Thanks to its integrated smart server, the iDC is equipped with the key applications that enable it to be integrated into a light management system. Safe and reliable operation of the system as a whole is largely dependent on the architecture of the lighting control system. If the transmission channel between the control technology and the iDC fails, this usually results in the subsequent failure of all downstream components. To avoid this and ensure a certain degree of redundancy, astronomically controlled schedulers can be activated in the iDC that will, after a certain delay, then perform the respective function.

A similar safeguard is provided for recording data generated by luminaire controllers. The smart server of the iDC contains locally integrated data loggers which are capable of recording generated data, even for days at a time, and can then transfer these data to the control technology, usually on a daily basis, but just as easily after a few days in the event of a communication breakdown. Most importantly, though, no data are lost. As the system is designed for universal use, it can be configured to suit highly disparate applications. The applications shown in the chart are integral parts of the iDC’s local intelligence and can be remotely configured using the available communication channels. The open nature of the data interface is properly documented in accordance with the XML/SOAP conventions as well as the W3C consortium and WSDL (Web Service Description Language).

SALES TEXT

Data concentrator for controlling powerline-capable luminaire controllers based on LON® technology for sub-distribution or substation installation. As the connecting link between the central control point and the luminaire controllers, the iDC enables online communication via open, standardised protocols on both the IP and the field level. Equipped with local applications specifically for the lighting tasks, the iDC intelligently controls the systems even in offline mode. Data logger, limit value monitoring, time control programs, e-mail client, real-time clock as well as a web server with programming interface are the basis for this. For integration into different infrastructures, the variants with 4G VPN router, IP/CAT5 and optical fiber interface for single or multimode technology are available.

TEXT FOR INVITATION TO TENDER

Wall-mounted data concentrator for managing luminaire controllers in accordance with the OLC LonMark® profile via a LON powerline. Depending on the specific product, communication to the central control technology can be optionally effected via:

a) VPN router with GSM 4G module
b) IP/CAT5 cable
c) Single-mode optical fibre
d) Multi-mode optical fibre

Bidirectional LON powerline communication according to EN 50065, primary in C-band (125-140 kHz), secondary in B-band (95-125 kHz). Protocol according to ANSI/CEA 709.1, transmission according to ANSI/CTA 709.2. Data transfer Europe EN 14908-1, EN 14908-3.

The real-time clock, with power reserve and astronomical calendar can be synchronized via SNTP server. For data recording of the LON® communication, data logger, alarm monitoring as well as alarm notification in the form of special applications are available. Parameterisation is done via the internal web interface or the XML/SOAP interface. Logged data or alarm messages can be sent via email.

Operating options:
• switched lighting cable
• unswitched lighting cable
• 1- to 3-phase voltage supply and signal coupling

The following interfaces are available:
• RS232 interface (9-pole) for commissioning and maintenance
• two optical, decoupled digital inputs
• two relay outputs (4 A)
• two S0 impulse inputs acc. to DIN 43864
• Ethernet port 10Base-T via RJ45 jack

Protection class I, degree of protection IP65, secure connection of the supply voltage via PG gland. Connection cable not included in the scope of delivery. 2 further opening each with M20, M25 and M32 threads, sealed with blanking plugs, are available for inserting additional cables. The SIM card for mobile communication is not included in the scope of delivery (SIM card holder only included in iDC-4R 188101). The power supply is single-phase. The signal coupling is 1-, 2- or 3-phase. Using the internal phase coupler, the 3-phase signal distribution in the C/B band of the CENELEC frequency range is carried out on the illumination cable via selective filters.

The device is suitable for a mains voltage of 110-230 V AC (± 10 %) with a mains frequency of 50/60 Hz. Power consumption in standby mode 7 W, max. 12 W in operation, depending on operating mode. Due to the application, the surge voltage protection is specially supplemented to 10 kV / 1.2 / 50 by an additional hierarchical protective measure to prevent failure of the electronics.

Operating temperature: –25 °C to + 60 °C, storage temperature –25 °C to + 85 °C. To ensure optimum EMC shielding, the iDC is delivered in a RAL 7001-varnished aluminium casing, with dimensions (W/H/D) 280 mm / 230 mm / 111 mm and a weight of 4,400/5,000 g.
